A Splash Of Batik

Vibrant colors are at the core of India’s heritage. A tradition of making batik is found in various countries. Indians use this ancient old technique of printing on cotton and silk fabrics, which can be traced back 2000 years. The Northern states of India know a deep heritage of lively and bright patterns… And I instantly fell in love with these magical hues while traveling there this spring.
Our batik wrap blouses are made out of free-hand splash colored batik, resulting in a virtual explosion of random designs and colors, printed on Indian silk. I found and handpicked these vintage treasures in back-alleys and warehouses around the Pink City of Jaipur.
Each sari is worn and treasured by an Indian woman, passing it down for years to come. Consisting of four meters of fabric, we were able to make two blouses per sari, making this item very limited and every blouse unique in its own color-way.
