PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Handmade from vintage batik silk saree fabric by an artisan cooperative in Jaipur, India.

Be the star of the night in this bright hued wrap blouse with bold puff sleeves. Made out of a vintage saree found in India, this top pairs particularly well with simple vintage jeans. This standout blouse celebrates the unexpected colors of India and a handcraft famously done by women.

With a zero-waste policy, we asked our partner to make scrunchies from the fabric scraps. We will add a matching hairpiece for you!

SIZING

Due to the unique and limited characteristics of the fabric, we chose to create one size for this style. The wrapped fit ensures easy adjustment.

Try it on: Do you want to try it on and happen to be in Amsterdam? You are always welcome to visit our studio in the city centre, at ‘de Wallen’. Please make your appointment via the contact form. Due to the one-of-a-kind character of this product, it is advised to buy the product in advance and ‘reserve’ your item. Select ‘studio pick-up’ from the shipment options, this way you don’t have to pay for shipping. In case the item doesn’t live up to your expectations, we will reimburse the full payment.

Please notice this blouse is made of up-cycled vintage fabric and therefore used and worn. Carrying little stains, imperfections and a lot of love from a previous life.

CARE

With a long term relationship in mind, store, wear and wash your silk items with these tips and help the longevity of your vintage silk’s life.

• Cold hand wash with eco-friendly detergent.
• After cleaning don’t wring excess moisture, but ‘ball’ the fabric together or roll in a towel.
• Dry clean for heavier cleaning and to remove stains.
• Steam to even out wrinkles or gently iron the creases. Make sure the silk is dry when you iron your garment, silk is prone to leave water marks.
• Hang in a dry and dark closet, preferably with a natural moth repellent.

PRODUCTION

Ethically made in Jaipur, India.

For this batik collection we collaborated with a small atelier in Jaipur. Working with family and friends in a cooperative society, they make sure everyone has enough work within their own discipline to sustain their families’ livelihoods.

This blouse takes around 2,5 hours to finish: from cutting the pattern, to sewing the pieces together, creating the ruffles and attaching the buttons, and finishing by ironing and packing for transport.

SHIPPING

We ship from Amsterdam in the Netherlands to most parts of the world. 

Delivery Rates & Time

After your payment is verified, it may take up to 24 hours to process and ship your order. This does not include weekends or holidays. Purchases made after 9AM (Amsterdam time) will not be shipped out until the next business day. 

We include tracking details with every shipment.
